What you’ll need:

A magnet, the stongest you can find

Incense, I believe you can chose whatever you like, but I used lavendel

Rosemary and salt

Six white candles

A piece of paper and a pen

A small plate

If this charm is meant for another person, I think it is important that that person is with you!

I lit the incense and sprinkled a circle of salt around myself and the person with me. I laid the magnet in between us and sprinkled some rosemary around it (I think this is optional). Then I asked my firend to place the candles around the magnet the way she wished and I lit them.

I told my friend to immagine a bright light in her chest that gave away waves of energy through her body. We sat like that for a moment. When she felt ready, I read something close to these sentences, and my friend repeated them after me.

Let this magnet pull away my darkest fears, protect me from my nightmares when Im not awake. May it grant me peacefull sleep.

After this I asked my friend to put down what her nightmares were usually about on the piece of paper, either in words or in small pictures. When she was done, we lit it on fire with the centremost candle and burned it all away. If you do not have anywhere to drop the paper, you might want to bring a small plate.

After this it was done.

I havent done this much, but this magnet has worked wonders for my friend. She was badly troubled by nightmares for months and she hasnt had any since we made the charm. And the magnet is continously gaining strange, dark spots that wont rubb off. It really does work.

I made this potion when I felt my home was not safe from negative energies and it worked for me. However, everyone is different and I do hope this works for you too :)

Today I would like to discuss the process of grounding and centering.

For anyone who practices the manipulation of energy/magic in any way, grounding and centering is a crucial skill.  It serves to balance your inner energy, purging negativity and readying it for use.  It can also help to prepare your mind to focus on the task at hand, and aids in putting aside or repelling negative emotions.

There are a number of methods for grounding and centering.  Some are quick and involve very little depth, while others are more prolonged and detailed.  However, they all serve basically the same purpose, and generally do not involve incantations or chants.  I will go into detail concerning two methods that I have encountered, both of which I have found to be effective for me.  They have the same core practices, though there are subtle differences between them.

The first method is easiest done standing up, though can work in any position with practice.  Position yourself comfortably, relaxing, and close your eyes.  Visualize roots growing out from your feet, twisting through the soil below you.  Down, down, down they wind through the earth until they begin to push through rocks.  Send your roots driving through the rocks, through the coursing magma below that, straight to the center of the earth.  Anchor your roots firmly within the pulsing energy of our earth’s heart.  Allow the energy to run up along your roots, rushing up through the magma and the rocks and the soil until it enters your feet.  Feel and visualize the energy channeling up through your body, raising your arms and allowing it to spill from the tips of your fingers.  Feel the energy purge your body of negativity and balance your inner magics.  Remain in this position, energy coursing through you, until you feel ready to lower your arms and retract your roots.

The second method can be done standing or sitting.  As with the first, position yourself in a comfortable and relaxed manner before sending your roots down into the earth.  Send them spiraling through soil, through rock, and through magma right into the center of the earth, where they become anchored.  Once this is done, visualize the energy of the Universe twining down towards you, spilling into your body through your head and rushing down.  The energy flows out of the lowest part of your body, down your roots, connecting you with the earth.  Visualize and feel the power filling you up, purging you of negativity.  When you feel ready, retract your roots and allow the flow of energy to disconnect.  

Of course, these are by no means the only two methods for grounding and centering.  The important thing is finding a method that works for you, and many witches develop their own specialized ways of grounding and centering.  Practice, explore, and study different ways of doing this until you find one that works.  We are all made of the same energy, but the means by which we control it will always vary from person to person.  Find the way that works for you.

Learning to ground and center is one thing, but knowing when to do it is another matter.  Basically, I find that it is an excellent way to begin a meditation, as well as being instrumental in readying my mind and body for any sort of magical working.  Energy that is balanced and close at hand is naturally easier to work with.  Some also find that performing a quick grounding and centering is a good way to deal with negative emotions or stress.  As a general rule, go with your gut instinct.

A house cleansing ritual is a way to remove any negative energies that might be lurking in your home.This is especially useful when…

• Moving into a new house,
• There has been a lot of negativity there,
• You’ve had a run of bad luck,
• You sense an unwelcome energy-being or ghost,
• Any time the energy feels heavy, dark, lethargic, or grungy.

In fact, it’s wonderful to do a purification ritual for your home regularly. You will really notice a difference in the feel of the house, and the smoothness of your life as well! Negative energies have a habit of collecting in our living spaces, and this affects our lives.

There are many different ways to cleanse and purify your house. Here is one of my favourites.

3-Fold House Cleansing Ritual & Blessing

This is a 3-fold cleanse, purification, and blessing. Part of the appeal of the Three-Fold House Cleansing & Blessing Ritual is that you can easily do it on your own, and it is very effective.

It uses 3 different smudges.

1. Sage

• Cedar

• Sweetgrass

Begin your house cleansing ritual by grounding, casting a Circle, invoking the elements/directions, and inviting any deities or guides you may like to help you. (This step is not strictly necessarily, but it will increase the potency of the work and also provide protection against unpleasant energies.)

Light a candle, invoking Divine Light and/or welcoming the Element of Fire. Wash yourself with the Light.

Then apply the sage to the candleflame, and get it smouldering. Go around the house in a counterclockwise (Widdershins) direction, wafting the smoke into every corner and closet.

Pay particular attention to areas where water, electricity, or gas comes in or out, where the electrical panel is located, any heat sources, and appliances.

Remember the hallways are rooms of a sort, too.

In the centre of each room, draw a circle or pentacle Above, and one Below.

At every window, and even more so at every entryway, work the smudge in a circle spiraling in to the centre, or draw a pentacle with the smudge.

While smudging with the sage, repeat this prayer:

Cleanse this house and make it clear —

Only good may enter here!

When you’ve completed the house, snuff out the sage.

Light the cedar, and go around the house. Use the same process, except for the rest you will go clockwise (deosil).

While smudging with the cedar, repeat this:

Blessings grace this cozy place it

All joy and peace may it embrace

After you’ve gone through the whole house, snuff out the cedar, and light the sweetgrass.

While smudging with the sweetgrass, in a clockwise (deosil) direction through the house, repeat this:

Infinite Power of the Divine

Protect and bless this house through time!

Once you’ve done the inside, go around the entire outside of the house with each smudge just as you did inside, and repeating the pentacle seal on every entryway.

You may also do this around the entire property (unless other families live there too).

End with this completion:

This home is Blessed!

Blessed Be!

At the end of your house cleansing ritual, devoke any deities, guides, and elements/directions you’ve invoked, open the Circle, and snuff the candle.

Take a moment to feel the energy of the house now. It should feel very light, spacious, and clear.

Mirror Cleansing

Here’s an optional cleansing ritual for mirrors. You can do mirrors the same way you do doors and windows. But try this once and see what happens.

At each mirror, start by smudging a counterclockwise spiral starting in the centre and working your way outwards. Then change the motion, going back and forth from top to bottom as if wiping the mirror clean.

You can use this incantation:

Cleanse this mirror, cleanse and bless it

Only good may be reflected!

Do this as part of your house cleansing ritual, or at any time, for example…

• Whenever you feel that it is unpleasant to look in a mirror
• Whenever you feel your mirrors have seen things that you don’t want to hold onto
• When you get a new mirror

House Cleansing Ritual Cautions

Because you’re using fire and smoke in this ritual, be sure to take adequate safety precautions.

Fire

• As always working with candles and smudges, be careful around flammables.
• Don’t leave candles unattended
• When you’re done smudging, and an hour later, check that the smudges are completely extinguished, and that no sparks are smouldering around the house

Smudging Smoke

• While smudging your smoke detectors may go off if they are very sensitive, or if you are producing a lot of smoke.

  You can disarm them, but remember to put them up again after!

• You don’t need a lot of smoke, only a trickle is sufficient. This is a lot of smudging… if there’s a lot of smoke you might find it hard to breathe.
• It’s best to let the sacred smoke settle in to the house if possible. But if anyone has trouble breathing or finds it unpleasant, simply air out the house.

Floor washes being used for magic is not new. Neither is washing the floor to clean debris or residue.Dunno where the floor washing magic began but I really care (and I well cast all sorts of side-eyes and doubt to anyone who says they know where it started because, really? Really? Washing the floor is such an antiquated task I don’t think we can date it.)

First I found a sponge mop (I usually wash my floor with rag mops but the sponge mop is easier for washing huge expanses of floor) and got my bucket. I then poured in the following:

white vinegar

lemon juice

sea salt

water

Now the last ingredients depend on what the fuck I want to happen. This time I threw down some protection and luck spells along with a handful of crushed clover.

I’ve used this for everything. I was different rooms with different washes. As a bonus the base floor wash kills fucking everything. No, really, I used this during a minor flea infestation and those fuckers were gone. That was magical all on its own.

And really, why wouldn’t you use some juju in your cleaning? It’s pretty much the best idea ever. I fucking hate cleaning but reminding myself that I’m enchanting my shit at the same time is fucking awesome.

1. Select the material that you would like to use for your bag. Velvet, felt, or leather are good choices. You can also use cotton or any other fabric. Because of it’s rich texture, velvet is a good choice for charm bags designed to bring money and prosperity to you.

2. Select the color of fabric for your charm bag. The color you choose depends on the purpose for your bag.

   • Pink is used for love.

   • Red is used for passion or sex.

   • Black is used for banishing and revenge.

   • Blue is used for spirituality and healing.

   • Purple is used for protection and also for psychic power.

   • Gold is used for wealth and prosperity.

   • Green is used for financial matters.

   • White is used for purity and cleansing. It can also be used for spirituality.

3. Other color associations that you may want to consider are:

   • Silver for the Goddess

   • Gold for the God

   • White for the angels or your spirit guide.

   • Green for fairies.

4. Cut your material into two square sections. Place the two pieces together with the insides facing each other. 
   
   Slowly sew three of the sides of the pouch together. While you sew your charm bag, focus your thoughts on the purpose for the charm. Visualize your goal coming true for you and know that as you sew your energy is being put into your charm bag and being sent out into the Universe and to the Goddess.

5. Next you can decorate your charm bag in any way that you wish. You may wish to draw meaningful symbols on the bag. You can can write your purpose on the bag. Sewing beads, sequins, ribbons, or other decorations on the bag is a good idea. The more effort and time you put into decorating and working with your charm bag, the more of your personal energy you infuse into it. While you are doing this, imagine that the charm bag is working its magic for you.

6. Now add the ingredients that you want to have in your charm bag. You can use anything that you feel is symbolic of the goal you wish to reach. Dried herbs, crystals, photos, written words, flower petals, trinkets, a small magnet (for magnetism), you can even spray the inside or outside of the bag with a perfume or dab it with essential oil.

7. Sew the top of your charm bag closed. If you wish, you can sew a ribbon onto the bag to hang it with. You may also carry the charm bag in your pocketbook, bag, or in your pocket.

Now I know you are asking yourself. ” Christian Witch…Why would I need black salt when Supernatural shows us that plain salt is just fine?” 

Well, Let me Explain.

Black Salt is normally used to banish or drive away negative things. It can be used to protect your home and garden area by sprinkling it around the property line. To protect from things general getting in your house you can put Black Salt in the corners of the room or across the door step. It is also used to remove negative spells that have been cast on a person. In general, Salt itself is a great purifying agent. Black Salt is more about protection and the banishment of all things negative.

Now that we know what is does, Let me show you how to make it.

You can use anything dry that has a black tone. Charcoal, Ashes, Scrapings from your cauldron/cast iron bowl or skillet, even Pepper is often used.

I used the charcoal i salvaged from the Litha Bonfire for an extra dose of light in the darkness.

I also used my small little cast iron cauldron as my mortar for the mixing.

The Salt I used was just plain table salt, but if you want to you can get all fancy with the sea salt and what not.

Once you have gathered you ingredients, it is time to grind the ingredient you chose to turn your salt black.

Now this can take a while and you need to make sure to watch out for the dust that comes up from these…It can choke you pretty bad. The Charcoal gave a LOVELY crunching sound and really took the edge off of my frustration with certain people. Then i kept repeating “grind their bones to make my bread”. I had a weird moment.

Once ground to the way you like it you add about double the amount in salt.

Now for the fun part. While thinking about all the ways you need to be protected, mix the ingredients until there is no white left. 

TADA! You have made your very own Black Salt. Now…Lets bottle this protective amazingness! Again. At this point the dust that comes off will choke you so fast its not even funny.

Also I need to warn that when putting in places be ready to get your hands dirty.

Once it is bottled and ready you can use it for just about anything you need done in the protective world.
